I tried for a few moments to put myself in the prime minister’s shoes.

Not to flatter him.

Not to convince anyone.

Simply to see how I would view the world in his place.

I grew up in an Albania where you couldn’t walk 200 meters without your shoes tearing apart.

We would be naive to say that no good things have been done.

That does not mean everything is perfect.

Nor that mistakes have not been made.

But for clarification:

I have not earned my living from the Albanian state since 1997.

I am neither sold out.

Nor bought.

And I do not support anyone blindly.

This song is simply an attempt to see the other side of the story.

A countercurrent to what we hear every day.

I know I will be insulted.

But that’s okay.

Because in the end:

The one who insults, insults.

The wise one thinks.
